A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a mistake. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of junk email messages, but this issue can be rectified by using anti-spam protection software. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you’ve got a shared hosting package with us and you want to activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it’ll take literally just a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in your account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary message and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all email address can be set up with a couple of mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting package with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses with any domain name hosted there. To enable the catch-all option for a specific mailbox, you will need to click on the sign with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Deactivating this feature can be accomplished in the very same fashion and will not take more than one click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a specific domain, you will receive a warning notice. The same is valid if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never change or deactivate anything automatically.
